DESCRIPTION
PERMACOAT 2000 SL is a "self-leveling" color stable,
epoxy based system consisting of three components; resin,
hardener and a blend of graded aggregates. It is applied with a
screed rake at 90 mils, over a primed surface. An optional
urethane glaze may be used to reduce scratching and maintain
gloss.
FUNCTION
The primary use of PERMACOAT 2000 SL system is as a high
strength floor topping for commercial and industrial service
where aesthetics and cleanability are a concern.
TYPICAL
APPLICATIONS
- Laboratories
- Clean Rooms
- Electronics Assembly
- Pharmaceutical Processing,
etc.
FEATURES
The PERMACOAT 2000 SL system provides a 100% solids, color stable,
stain resistant surface in areas where a smooth floor is needed.
PERMACOAT 2000 SL can be installed over most sound floors
including old or new concrete and most types of repair mortars.
At 90 mils, the PERMACOAT 2000 SL system provides excellent
Chemical Resistant Coatings for splash and spill, or long term
containment for many chemicals. (For specific recommendations
refer to the PERMATEC 2000 "Chemical Resistance Guide"
and your local distributor.)
OTHER FEATURES
INCLUDE:
- Rapid cure resulting in
minimal 'downtime'
- Odor-free
- 100% non-porous
- Easy to clean
MIXING
Prior to application of the PERMACOAT 2000 SL the Resin, Hardener, and
Silica and substrate should be between 75oF and
90oF.
APPLICATION
After preparing the concrete the surface should be sealed with
PERMACOAT 2000 epoxy primer. After the primer has cured, the
PERMACOAT 2000 SL may be mixed and poured onto the floor. The
material should then be spread with a screen rake or serrated
squeegee to achieve the desired thickness of 90 mils. Screed
raking is generally preferred because of the uniformity in
thickness that can be achieved and the ease of use. Serrated
squeegees or notched trowels may be used if the applicator is
most comfortable with that method and has used them with the
PERMACOAT 2000 SL before. After spreading the PERMACOAT 2000 SL
to the appropriate thickness, the floor should be back rolled
with a spike roller to release trapped air and smooth out the
surface.
SAFETY
PERMACOAT 2000 SL contains blended Epoxies as the resin and blended
Amines as the hardener. Protective clothing and gloves are
recommended to prevent sensitization to these materials. In case
of ingestion or eye contact, contact a physician immediately.
MSDS are available for this product upon request.
CLEAN-UP
All mixing and application equipment should be cleaned
immediately after use. If this is done, soap and water, or
biodegradable cleaners can be used. If the material has begun to
set, more aggressive solvents may be necessary. Before using
solvents, refer to their respective MSDS
for handling considerations.

PACKAGING
& COVERAGE
PERMACOAT 2000 SL system is available in prepackaged 50 square
foot units based on 90 mil applications. Each unit consists of
pre-measured components, Part A (Resin) and Part B
(Hardener) and graded aggregates which are mixed into the Resin
and Hardener at the job site.
CURE
TIME
The cure time of PERMACOAT 2000 SL and other resinous
systems are very dependent upon the temperature of the
substrate. In addition, the workability of SL flooring
is greatly effected by temperature and its effect on
viscosity. Because of these factors the material and
substrate temperature should be monitored and remain
between 75-90oF during application.

STORAGE
& SHELF LIFE
PERMACOAT 2000 SL should be stored at 50-90oF out of direct
sunlight. All containers should remain unopened until ready for
use. If stored as set out above, PERMACOAT 2000 SL has a minimum
shelf life of one year.
WHERE PERMACOAT 2000 SL
SHOULD NOT BE INSTALLED
PERMACOAT 2000 SL should not be applied over substrates:
- subject to hydrostatic
pressure
- which are unsound
- which are contaminated and
cannot be cleaned
- at temperatures below 75oF
(consult ChemProof Polymers, Inc.)
- with a slope
